Still plugging away at the 100 drawing challenge...
She could feel it, though. That horrible, all too familiar feeling that a string between them was being stretched further and further apart, until none of them could feel it anymore. Nothing but the emptiness that should have been filled by another half.
So there's like this... creative event horizon I guess? It's like the point of no return, and if I go over it, a piece becomes unsalvageable to me. I don't know what it is, it's just the point where a piece stops looking good to me and starts looking like shit.
This was looking bad in the sketch phase, but I loved the concept so much I powered through it. Then the inks looked bad, then the colors looked bad, then I couldn't get things properly centered, then the scan turned out sub par... ah, it's just been a cursed piece for me. But that's okay. I still love the idea. I'm just not thrilled with how it came out. Just gotta keep working harder I guess!
Uh, there's a lot of stuff going on in this. There's duality imagery, and some black and white imagery, and some marriage imagery, and that "red string of fate" motif I'm unreasonably fond of. Highly symbolic for me haha.
