Well I think for the first time in EVER, Gen is actually going to get his commission finished ON TIME instead of three months later. I don't know why he keeps coming back for more Then again, he may or may not be attempting to wallpaper his entire house with my art. But I'm cool with it, they are WAY fun to do.

I've had a lot of chances to get to know the CATS characters through Gen's commissions, and I have to say that so far this is my favorite one I've done, and Munkstrap is so my favorite one I've had to draw yet! But then again, he's super dashing dressed up in his poofy shirt

SO this is a Phantom of the Opera themed image, using characters from CATS to fill the roles of the cast members. So it's Macavity as the Phantom, Munkstrap as Raoul, and Demeter as Christine. I feel bad that Christine!Demeter got pushed to the side a bit, but when I rewatched this fight-scene from the movie I noticed that Christine sort of hangs back for most of it, mostly because she's an indecisive ninny for most of that story. Called in the ever-awesome ~Ottotoplz again for a fencing consolation. He mentioned that Phantom!Macavity's footwork was a little off, but otherwise the fight scene looked solid.

I've decided WHITE is the hardest thing to paint XD Since this scene takes place in the snow I thought I was going to be getting off easy with the mostly white background but nooooooo. Ah well Also, this is going to be my example about why blending blacks instead of just using black is the better route... if I had made everything solid black like it would have been, the coats/pants/dress would have looked really... blob-like So I'm REALLY glad I've gotten in the habit of mixing my paints to make black.
